FFA Feeds the Farmers in Ord

Members of the Ord FFA chapter handed out rolls, coffee and sack lunches this October as part of their  “Feed the Farmer” campaign at Green Plains Ord.

Halle Ramsey, President of the Ord chapters said, “We felt it was important to take time to appreciate the agricultural members in our local community because without their support, our FFA chapter would not be able to take advantage of so many fantastic opportunities. We feel very blessed to be a part of this community, so we just wanted to give back. We wanted them to know that we appreciate all they do, not only for our FFA chapter, but for the agriculture industry and the world as a whole.”

Green Plains proudly supports FFA and thanks them for the investment in America's agricultural future!

U.S. Grains Council Tours Central City

On Mon., Aug. 10, Green Plains Central City hosted the U.S. Grains Council and a group of eight Taiwanese delegates led by the Nebraska Corn Board.

The Corn and DDGS Survey Team from Taiwan was in the U.S. from Aug. 3 to Aug. 14. During their time, they had field visits at local farms and storage facilities in Illinois and Nebraska, as well as the Green Plains’ corporate office and Green Plains Central City ethanol plant.  After leaving the Corn Belt, the Survey Team headed to Seattle to see the export process first hand.

The U.S. Grains Council is a private, non-profit partnership of producers and agribusinesses committed to building and expanding international markets for U.S. barley, corn, grain sorghum and related products.

The Council believes exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture's profitability and Green Plains agrees. We welcome any opportunity to showcase our facilities, our processes and our passion for growth and progress.
