Midwest Ag Expo
Last week we attended Midwest Agriculture Expo Day in Rock Port, Missouri. With Rock Port being only a short drive from our Shenandoah location, we had the opportunity to say hello to many of our customers. We also had a lot of questions about algae! The BioProcess Algae co-location, which is unique only to Shenandoah, was of interest to many. And as a thank you for stopping by, visitors to our display walked away with with some of our Green Plains gear.
Fun fact: Rock Port is the hometown of Green Plains Shenandoah General Manger, Cory Scamman, which made the Green Plains display a popular stop.
Celebrating 5 Years with Green Plains Shenandoah
On August 23, 2012, Green Plains Shenandoah celebrated their 5 Year Anniversary. On this day five years ago, Green Plains commenced the first grind for Green Plains Shenandoah, the first of our nine ethanol plants. Since the inception of our Shenandoah plant, the community of Shenandoah has been a huge supporter, helping Green Plains to become the 4th largest ethanol producer in the country. As a thank you to the Shenandoah community and our wonderful employees, we invited everyone out to the plant for a grill-out and awards presentation. We had many special guests speak at this milestone event including Jim Stark, Vice President of Investor & Media Relations of Green Plains, Richard "Dick" Hunt, Mayor of Shenandoah, Gregg Connell, Executive Director of the Shenandoah Chamber & Industry, Cory Scamman, General Manager of Green Plains Shenandoah and Jeff Briggs, Chief Operating Officer of Green Plains.
Thank you Shenandoah community, for helping pave the way for our growth in the ethanol industry. Your continued support does not go unnoticed.
